Yes, all SDIs go through a validation process. To learn more about our research on the SDI, please visit the Research page. To learn more about the validation of our translations, please visit the Translations and Adaptations page.
The SDI is available in a variety of languages including English, American Sign Language, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Japanese. Additional translations are becoming publicly available. Please visit the Translations and Adaptations page to learn about our international work.
There is no limit to how many times you can complete the SDI. The SDI is a snapshot of someone’s self-determination today and it may change as supports, opportunities, and instruction are provided. In our projects, the SDI is typically completed a few per year, but this can vary depending on your needs.
The slider scale is most accessible to a wide range of users, reduces cognitive load, and is more sensitive to changes across time.
The SDI purposefully displays the report without scores, because we want people to focus on their own personal growth instead of trying to reach a “certain score.” However, if you would like to see your scores, you can toggle on “Show Scores” on the report page.
You can click the print or email button on the SDI report page to print, save a PDF, email your report. If you would like to view SDI results in the Responsitory system at a later date, your group can purchase a subscription. More information on subscription plans can be found on the Responsitory page.
